About Vivian

Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Dr. Vivian Lawrence has spent her career working across cultures, languages, and healthcare environments. Fluent in English, Arabic, Hebrew, French, and Italian, she brings a global perspective to healthcare, education, and research.

Her professional journey has included international healthcare work, including an assignment in Morocco where she trained and mentored nurses in clinical practice and patient care. These experiences shaped her interest in communication, caregiving, and the ways individuals and families navigate illness, adversity, and long-term responsibility.

Today, Dr. Lawrence's research focuses on caregiving, serious mental illness, stress appraisal, coping processes, and narrative analysis. Her work explores how people make sense of difficult experiences and how language influences adaptation, resilience, and meaning-making under conditions of chronic stress.

Dr. Lawrence holds a Healthcare Master of Business Administration (HMBA) and a PhD in Health Sciences. Her background in healthcare, leadership, education, and research allows her to approach complex healthcare challenges from multiple perspectives while maintaining a strong focus on the lived experiences of patients, families, and caregivers.
